It’s hard to admit, or even to understand, when looking at the endless list of dishes offered in this Indian restaurant in the middle of nowhere, but what comes out of the kitchen, placed on each table with care and deference, is simply good and well made. The samosas and pakoras, the chicken tikka, perfectly spiced, cooked in its marinade, remarkably tender, and served with a fresh salad, are faithful and convincing versions of the classics. Other dishes show a bit more independence from the standard repertoire, such as a suggested shrimp stew, tender, flavorful, served with salad, in a spicy tomato sauce with real, perfectly crisp fries. And even if, as happened to us recently, your meal is accompanied by the persistent sound of drills, you’ll still leave with a smile, perhaps taking with you a piece of that delicious cheese naan with its perfect crispness.
