Stella Sky Lounge, perched atop the St.Regis in Via Riyadh, delivers on setting. Plush couches, soft lighting and sweeping rooftop views create an elegant, laid-back vibe. Indoors is calm and refined, while the outdoor space is lined with poolside tables and twinkle-lit trees. A live violinist playing ambient Arabic melodies adds a stylish touch, though the heat and shisha scent can detract from the experience. The menu spans sushi, ceviche, plancha dishes and grills — an ambitious mix that somewhat lacks clear identity. Still, many dishes were well-executed. The seabass ceviche was excellent: bright, bold and beautifully balanced. The maki was also crisp and fresh. Dessert was visually impressive, although it didn’t quite deliver on taste. While the experience could use a touch more polish and cohesion, particularly the uneven service, Stella Sky Lounge is an enjoyable spot nonetheless.
