Banyan Tree's ultimate luxury, with its guesthouses scattered across the park's desert dunes, is aimed at a select few tourists, who can choose their gourmet destination : Harrat for the Middle East, Saffron for Thailand, just ten minutes from the reception area by buggy. Instead of the charming dark wood and red-toned dining room, you may prefer to sit on the terrace overlooking the sands and mountains, weather permitting. A welcome drink and a few thoughtful touches provide a charming prelude to the Khong Wang Ruam, a selection of the various appetizers : chicken satay, prawns wrapped in noodles, crispy seabass roll with cashew nuts, pomelo salad. The green chicken curry is generous, based on good ingredients, close to the two toques, with a few more or less welcome original ideas, such as crispy seabass crumbs or blue rice, colored with butterfly pea flower. The Khao Niew Mamuang dessert is quite pleasant, a kind of crispy, melting rice roll, with mango slices and decent coconut ice cream. Insufficient drinks menu for the place.
