Also present in Riyadh, Roka in Jeddah is perhaps a little less trendy than its counterpart in the capital, but it has all the qualities of the latter : consistency in the level of cuisine, well-followed protocols, a fusion of interesting dishes with the expected Japanese bases. Set in a busy and varied food mall, it features a pretty wood-ceilinged decor, comfortable armchairs and bonsai trees in pots, well suited to enjoy these inventive and urbanized bites, to be shared with friends. Beef and ginger gyozas, fatty tuna in nigiri not as fluffy as expected, with a rather basic soy sauce, but to make up for it, the great black cod marinated in miso and radish pickles, a comforting and tasteful dish that brings back the toque. Non-alcoholic Asahi beer, a wide selection of mocktails, and perfectly polished, smiling, highly efficient service.
