On the seventeenth floor of the Assila Hotel, the view over Jeddah is breathtaking, and is one of the restaurant’s main selling points. The cuisine, by contrast, strives to be as crowd-pleasing as possible, offering a neutral, practical menu of Latin-American-inspired dishes: tuna or beef tartare, tacos, Caesar salad or beef carpaccio; a mushroom and truffle risotto still lacking precision, particularly in temperature control; a selection of premium meats, wagyu from Australia or the United States, that would benefit from more elaborate accompaniments.
