Vineet Bhatia has been associated with the Movenpick group since 2015 for the Indian table at this prestigious hotel. While he now oversees the kitchens of more than twenty restaurants around the world, mainly in London and the Middle East, the quality remains high, especially in this iconic venue, a rendition of an Indian palace with its meticulous decor and marble floors. More than the repetition of classics (pakora, samosa, aloo chaat, tandoori chicken, various biryanis), it's the precision and accuracy of the sauces that stand out, whose spiciness can of course be varied. With lamb, chicken or shrimp, the preparations are remarkable, the flesh tender, like the lamb rogan josh on a beautiful tomato and onion masala sauce. The very good gulab jaman can do without the cumbersome nougat-style ice cream for dessert, and the service is disarmingly kind. Choice of water, mocktails and coffee and, while it's available, tea is not on the menu.
