Gault&Millau's review 2026

On the ground floor of the Mandarin, La Brasserie, a poorly chosen name as it bears none of the traditional hallmarks, stands as a typical hotel restaurant in Riyadh, with a setting that feels more like a breakfast room. Featuring a large and very comprehensive all-you-can-eat buffet for 295 SAR, guests can pile their plates with a wide variety of dishes inspired by cuisines from around the world. Alternatively, one can opt for the à la carte menu, recommended and served by attentive staff, offering a mix of Levantine and international cuisine, including Italian and Indian dishes. For example, you can try the spaghetti aglio e olio (lots of garlic, not enough oil) or the very decent chicken tikka masala, served as it should be with a choice of mild or spicy sauces and a proper rice (though the chips could easily be replaced with naan bread). There are pleasant initiatives for regular visitors, such as the Tuesday seafood buffet.
