Gault&Millau's review 2026

Opened in mid-November, Ko introduces to Riyadh a Peruvian-born concept blending Asian street-food influences with subtle Latin touches. Already present in Lima, Bogotá and Guayaquil, the brand brings a youthful, relaxed spirit to this new location, supported by good music, warm service and a modern décor free of unnecessary sophistication. The menu is wide yet coherent, covering sushi rolls, tacos, dim sum and bowls with a casual, approachable style. The Crispy Passion roll illustrates the kitchen’s playful combinations, delivering a satisfying balance of textures and a pleasant hint of sweetness. The Veggie Lemongrass Stir-Fry Rice is one of the strongest dishes: aromatic, colourful and well assembled, with clear flavours and a comforting finish. The Chilli Crab Taco, though visually appealing, is less successful, as the heated nori tightens the crab and affects the delicacy of the bite. Plating remains clean and contemporary, rolls aligned neatly on slate, tacos filled generously, bowls composed with inviting colour contrasts. The beverage selection follows the concept naturally, with Asian teas, fruit refreshers, creative coffees and a couple of non-alcoholic beers. Overall, Ko delivers good food, good energy and a lively ambiance, making it a recommended stop for those seeking straightforward Asian fusion with a Peruvian twist in Riyadh’s expanding dining scene.
