Perfectly located on the Corniche, this Italian restaurant enjoys a chic setting, with a very pleasant upstairs dining room offering an elevated view. The place is comfortable, the service attentive and dedicated, and the manager is visibly present for any request. Going well beyond the boundaries of the Botte, the menu is enormous with salads, soups, and other unexpected dishes such as chicken and fries or smoked salmon, which sit alongside a vast classic selection of antipasti, pizzas, pastas, risottos, fish, meats, desserts, and ice creams. Execution is fairly careful, with quantity favored over quality. The carpaccio is a bit dry, topped with a large mound of ribbon-cut arugula and slices of Grana. The spaghetti comes with a tomato sauce that’s somewhat overpowering, and not really necessary with seafood, before finishing with a very good, textbook tiramisu. Juices, mocktails, and water accompany the meal.
