No matter what continent you're on, hotel dining isn't always known for its relaxed atmosphere. The Ritz-Carlton in Jeddah is no exception to the rule, and with its regularly changing restaurant chains, it's not always easy to build customer loyalty. Flame, with its slightly oppressive decor, logically dominated by red hues, is positioned in a high-end niche, as required by the Ritz-Carlton, even offering the services of a couple of musicians/singers to liven up this large room which sometimes sounds desperately empty. The business clientele appreciate the comfort of the premises and the space between the tables, and happily pick from a mainly meat menu, a generous "signature" burger, spaghetti with bolognese sauce and mozzarella di buffala, before concluding with the inevitable tiramisu, generous and creamy but served in a large red ramekin whose design is not really in keeping with the artistic direction of the place. Service sometimes confused.
