Beirut's large smoking room precedes a quieter one, the whole being the natural flagship of the Kempinski Hotel. After riding the glass-walled elevator, one almost regrets not being able to enjoy the view, but the liveliness of the room and the quality of the dishes served by chef Wassim make up for this slight disappointment. The art of the classic is to vary the hummus, here in six different versions, the moutabal and the labneh, while mastering the preparation of all the standards, falafel, fatteh, kebbés, fattoush, tabbouleh... A pleasant "Lebanese pizza", mushrooms, cheese, olive onions, before an original "kabab tajen" on lamb kefta and tahina bread. Generous portions through to dessert, with the pistachio mafroukeh, beautiful and tasty, providing the final gourmet touch, melting and fragrant. Very good, attentive and diligent service.
