Located in Laysen Valley next to the diplomatic quarter, Bagatelle is the French part of the restaurant offering, paying tribute to classic culinary traditions. It's a beautiful place, meticulously capturing the classic French spirit with moldings, silverware and mise en place à la française, beautiful white tablecloths and glassware, colorful Yves Saint-Laurent posters, the famous counter so typical of Parisian bistros, and a quite exemplary traditionally-inspired cuisine. Prices can sometimes be a bit steep, but the promises are well kept: an elegant carpaccio of sea bass, with a definite finesse and well-seasoned cucumber pickles, lemon and capers, then risotto with turbot, shellfish juice, caviar and burnt kumquats, or farmhouse chicken with tarragon and a salt crust with herbs. Desserts hold their own, Riviera-inspired like the tarte tropézienne. Ultra-professional, attentive service.
