Gault&Millau's review 2026

Just a few dozen meters from the Al Turaif fortress and Bujairi Terrasse, the exemplary Aseeb tradition finds a fine expression here, a little less eloquent than its Al Yasamin counterpart, but quite close in content. The contemporary building offers a more relaxed atmosphere than you’d expect, with well-trained staff and noble materials, including beautiful serving platters, ceramics and wood. Essentially Saudi, the cuisine also veers between Morocco and Lebanon to vary the pleasures, while keeping the peasant dishes usually neglected by restaurants less devoted to cultural heritage (camel meat, for example). Harira soup, which we'd have liked a little spicier, precedes samosas with stewed minced meat in a spicy sauce, and the traditional margoog, layers of brown dough cooked with meat and fresh vegetables, onions and Aseeb spice mix. Good mouhalabieh for dessert, limited choice of drinks.
