Gault&Millau's review 2026

The Saudi counterpart to London's chic private club Annabel's, this restaurant in the middle of the desert, fifteen minutes away from the city, has an obvious charm, that of an illuminated oasis garden, with tables under palm trees, the slightly weary rhythm of the DJ and the remarkably solicitous staff, orchestrated by Christian, a prolix manager with great expertise and a beautiful striped jacket. As with members of the English club, the menu is all-inclusive, with the 500 SAR price tag covering every need, mocktails and a hot drink of your choice added to the various attentions and copious menu of the moment: mezzes as an appetizer (babaganoush, feta jalapenos, excellent hummus and a basket of crudités), three starters served on the same plate (perhaps not the best idea ever), combining basil and balsamic burrata, mango tuna tartare and king prawns with saganaki tomato sauce, the choice of main course (pasta, lamb, fish) offering us this evening a very well-cooked fillet of sea bass on a tomato olive virgin (the side dishes, potato, tomato, zucchini, were more classic), before the excellent desserts by Antoine, the French pastry chef sent from London for the occasion, in particular his pistachio sea salt olive oil ice cream and his chocolate cake. James, an astute mixologist, knows how to find the right tonality to suit your desires, and the young Serbian waitress shares her enthusiasm with professionalism.
