Gault&Millau's review 2026
Gourmet Restaurant
In a mall particularly well-stocked with interesting dining options (Manko, Roka, Café Lapérouse…), Amar offers the local take on the region, one of a Lebanese cuisine with a wide variety of Middle Eastern influences. The classics are reinterpreted depending on various influences, hummus, moutabal, labneh, kibbeh…, and you discover dishes like msakhan djej, an excellent Palestinian specialty resembling a rolled crêpe filled with herb-marinated meat and vegetables, makanek, spiced minced-meat sausages, daoud basha (meatballs), or a very good shish taouk of tender, well-marinated chicken served with yogurt sauce. The atmosphere is lively between the two dining rooms, including the veranda for smokers, the service is highly attentive and caring throughout, and the bill remains quite reasonable. Nice variety of desserts, including the delightful halawet el jebn, a rolled semolina and cheese pastry, a Syrian specialty.
